Dates

Irises

Dates with cinnamon cream cheese, a little plant-dyed knitted gnome baby from this artist, and one of the best photos I've taken - it's of a black iris seedhead in our garden (click to see closer).

My father used to take so many beautiful pictures of flowers.  He was an amateur photographer, with a paid job as a pharmacist.  As kids we loved playing with his old photo equipment, which he didn't really use much. I remember a giant accordian type thing that was supposed to be for developing photos, which factored into many of our dramatic performances that we put on in our basement.

I was telling Sarah and her family about how we had so many flower photos overflowing in boxes in our house while I was growing up, because Sarah reminded me of my dad when she was photographing every piece of food she cooked or planned to eat on Thanksgiving.

Oh, I finished knitting something, from long ago - a ballerina wrap in a yarn called Evita.  The coppery highlights made it a perfect belated birthday gift for Sarah, with her fiery red hair.  We went to her parents' house for Thanksgiving, and got to explore her father's new woodworking studio and eat her mother's incredible pies.  Ellie loved being out in the muddy country.

Happy belated Thanksgiving! Those dates look so incredibly good!! Mmmmmmm.

Hello. Yes, I recognize our family recipe for the dates plus a unique twist with the cream cheese instaed of peanut butter.
It is nice that you remember Dad's photo-hobby affectionately. I do as well and enjoyed my days in college going on photo-shoots with him. He was a great dad, as I am sure Martin is! :)
You are really enjoying and basking in motherhood and I am so proud of you. I love being Auntie Lyn to my new and precious nephew Binx!
Love, you sister

sorry about my typos, above, :) -Lynette

From Binx's grandma "GG":
It is wonderful to visit the site and see what Binx is doing and see updates about him.
Did he get a chance ot have sweet potato for Thanksgiving?
I lovingly compare his age to whatever baby happens to be at school (our child care center) so I can imagine what he is doing.

Oh, I love that baby gnome. Thanks for posting about it. I had to do an online search and find a pattern so I could knit one for Henry right away!
