the days are longer, but not long enough

This little sweater is almost finished. Almost.

But I had to take a break because I got the most amazing opportunity to take an all-day class with Annie Modesitt yesterday. I took her Twisted Float shrug class (more on that after I download the pictures). Today I'm making up for lost work time over the past two weeks.

While I sit, head bowed over grant proposals, the hops are starting to climb. Birds are chirping in high gear. Our locust tree is getting its leaves, to join the leaves already out on our vine maple and hawthorn.

Sebastian is practicing saying "I'm three." So very big. He puts a piece of paper on his head and says "This is my house, Mommy." A piece of straw, "This is a propeller, Mommy." When it's time for bed, "Snuggle me, Mommy." Every second I look at him he breaks my heart.

So so many things I  want to think about, read, cook, knit. I wish I had another entire day for every actual day.

Oh yes I know that feeling--I have it every time I watch my 10 year old dart away on her scooter!

Beautiful soft little sweater...gorgeous color. Little kids say the cutest things and you do remember most of those sayings even when they get really, really big.

The sweater is gorgeous! And I'm granting you one extra day for every day~ give binx a big hug for me!

I don't remember nearly enough of what my big kids said when they were little. I wish I would have written down more of the earnest and beautiful things they said.

What a lovely little sweater. That looks to be a very satisfying item to knit.

It is true that the days are never long enough for all I want to accomplish.

oh lady! my little sebs is turning 5 in a tad less than two months! i can hardly believe it! congrats on the book (it's great!) and i too am watching our garden finally start to take off. cherishing every sunny second!

i share your sentiment! i try hard to just live in the moment to get the most out of it :)

I know the feeling too - My Nanny (grandmother) used to have a saying - "The days are long, but the years are short" - I think I know what she meant...
